Possible Causes

Shorted motor windings in main suction motor, Clogged brush head causing motor overload, Damaged wiring harness between battery and main PCB, Faulty battery BMS current sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery pack before inspecting the brush head or wiring.

  • Check for mechanical blockage: Remove the motorized floor nozzle from the wand. Inspect the brush roll for hair, threads, or debris tightly wrapped around it. Use scissors to carefully cut and remove all obstructions. Ensure the brush roll spins freely by hand.
  • Inspect the air path: Remove the dust bin, cyclone assembly, and wand. Look through each section for clogs (dust plugs, paper, pet hair). Clear any blockage using a long brush or flexible rod. Do not use sharp metal tools that could puncture plastic.
  • Examine wiring and connectors: Check the connector between the battery and the main body PCB for signs of melting, discoloration, or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
  • Test without brush head: Reinstall the battery and run the vacuum with only the main body (no wand, no floor head). If E2 does not appear, the overload is likely in the motorized floor nozzle or wand wiring. If E2 still appears, the main motor or PCB may be drawing excessive current.
  • Try a lower power mode: If your ETA model has multiple power levels, start in ECO/low mode. Persistent E2 even at low power indicates a hardware fault that usually requires part replacement.

When to call a technician: If the vacuum still shows E2 after clearing all blockages and testing without the brush head, the main suction motor or battery pack may be defective. These parts should be tested and replaced by an authorized ETA service center.
