Possible Causes

Blocked air intake or exhaust vents, Severely clogged filters restricting airflow, Failing main motor with increased friction, Faulty thermal sensor on motor or PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum, remove the battery, and allow the unit to cool for at least 30 minutes before further use.

  • Check for airflow obstructions: Remove the dust bin, cyclone, wand, and nozzle. Inspect all air passages for clogs. Clear any debris found.
  • Clean all filters: Remove pre-motor and post-motor filters. Clean or wash them according to the user manual. Ensure they are completely dry before reinstalling.
  • Inspect cooling vents: Look for dust buildup on the motor cooling vents around the main body. Use a soft brush or compressed air to gently remove dust (keep the nozzle at a distance to avoid damage).
  • Use appropriate power mode: Avoid running the vacuum continuously on MAX/TURBO mode for long periods, especially on thick carpets. Alternate between ECO and standard modes to reduce heat buildup.
  • Test after cooling: Reinstall the battery and run the vacuum. If E5 appears quickly even with clean filters and clear airflow, the motor or thermal sensor may be defective.

When to call a technician: Persistent E5 with no visible blockages suggests a failing motor or sensor. These components should be diagnosed and replaced by an authorized ETA technician.
