Possible Causes

Failed power MOSFETs on main PCB, Corrupted firmware on control board, Shorted components due to liquid ingress, Damaged wiring harness connectors

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack and do not attempt to power the unit while inspecting for liquid damage.

  • Inspect for moisture or corrosion: Check the main body, especially around buttons and seams, for signs of liquid spills or condensation. If moisture is present, do not use the vacuum. Allow it to dry in a warm, ventilated area for at least 48 hours.
  • Check external connectors: Inspect the battery contacts and any visible connectors for corrosion or burnt marks. Clean light corrosion with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol. Do not scrape aggressively.
  • Reset the unit (if supported): Some ETA models allow a reset by holding the power button for 10–15 seconds with the battery installed. Refer to the user manual. After reset, try powering on again.
  • Test with another battery (if available): If you have a second compatible ETA battery, try it to rule out a battery communication issue.

When to call a technician: E6 usually indicates an internal electronics failure. If the error persists after drying and basic checks, the main PCB/control board must be replaced by an ETA service center. Do not attempt board-level repairs yourself.
