Possible Causes
Completely discharged or defective Festool battery pack, Broken main power switch, Open circuit in internal wiring harness, Failed control electronics module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before opening the housing. Do not short battery terminals.
- 1. Check battery status: Press the battery's charge indicator button. If no LEDs light, fully charge the battery using a Festool charger and retest. Try a known-good battery if available.
- 2. Inspect battery fit: Ensure the battery slides fully into the vacuum and locks with an audible click. Loose fit can prevent contact.
- 3. Test main switch: Toggle the main switch several times. If it feels loose or does not click, open the housing and inspect the switch and its connectors.
- 4. Inspect wiring and PCB: Look for broken wires, burned components, or loose connectors between the battery interface, switch, and control board.
- 5. Replace faulty parts: Replace a defective main switch or wiring harness if visibly damaged. If no obvious issues are found and the unit remains dead with a good battery, the control electronics module likely needs replacement by Festool service.
