Vacuum shows E12 and will not start when dust container is removed or not seated correctly

Possible Causes
Misaligned container, Damaged container interlock switch, Broken container latch, Disconnected interlock wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before adjusting the container or interlock components.
- 1. Reseat container: Remove the dust container completely and reinstall it, ensuring it is fully seated and latched according to the Festool manual.
- 2. Inspect latches and seals: Check that the container latches close firmly and that no debris is trapped between the container and the main body, preventing full engagement.
- 3. Locate interlock switch: Open the housing (if necessary) to find the container presence switch or sensor. Verify that the actuator from the container actually presses or triggers the switch when installed.
- 4. Check wiring: Ensure the interlock switch wiring harness is intact and the connector is secure on the control PCB.
- 5. Replace faulty switch or container: If the switch does not change state when manually actuated, replace the interlock switch. If the container's plastic actuator tab is broken, the container assembly may need replacement.
