Possible Causes
Disconnected keypad ribbon cable, Damaged control panel PCB, Liquid ingress into keypad, Faulty microcontroller on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before opening the control panel or housing.
- 1. Inspect control panel: Check for signs of liquid spills, cracks, or physical damage on the keypad and display area.
- 2. Reseat ribbon cable: Open the housing and locate the flat ribbon cable or connector between the keypad/display board and the main control board. Carefully disconnect and reconnect it to ensure a solid connection.
- 3. Dry out moisture: If there are signs of moisture, allow the unit to dry completely in a warm, dry environment for at least 24 hours before reassembly. Do not use heat guns or ovens.
- 4. Test after reassembly: Reinstall the battery and test the controls. If E15 persists and no buttons respond, the keypad PCB or main control board is likely defective.
- 5. Replace control panel or main board: Replace the user interface board if available as a separate part. If not, the entire control electronics module must be replaced by Festool service.
