Possible Causes

Faulty position sensor in handle, Damaged reed switch or magnet in wand coupling, Broken detection wire in wand, Firmware misconfiguration

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Remove the battery before inspecting couplings.

  • Inspect couplings: Check the mechanical joints between the handheld unit and wand for cracks or misalignment that could prevent the magnet or sensor from lining up.
  • Clean joints: Remove dust and debris from the coupling surfaces that might block sensor operation.
  • Test in each configuration: Try operating the vacuum as a handheld only, then with the wand attached. Note when E12 appears.
  • Firmware reset (if available): Some models allow a factory reset via a button combination; consult the user manual and perform the reset.
  • Service: If the error persists, the internal mode detection sensor or PCB must be replaced.
