Possible Causes
Dirty or oxidized battery contacts, Incompatible or non-original battery pack, Faulty battery management PCB, Damaged battery connector in vacuum handle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Remove the battery pack from the vacuum. Do not short the terminals.
- Clean contacts: Inspect the metal contacts on both the battery and the vacuum handle. Gently clean them with a dry cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry fully.
- Check battery fit: Ensure the battery clicks firmly into place with no excessive play. Loose fit can cause intermittent communication errors.
- Try another battery: If you have a second compatible Groupe SEB battery, test with it. If the second battery works, the original pack is likely faulty.
- Inspect connector: Look inside the handle for bent or recessed pins. Do not force the battery if pins are misaligned; have the connector repaired.
- If E5 remains: The internal control PCB in the handle may have a communication fault and should be checked by a service center.
