Possible Causes
Hair and fibres wrapped around brush bar, Foreign object jammed in floor head, Worn brush bar end bearings, Faulty brush motor drawing excess current
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before working on the floor head. Never put fingers near the brush while power is connected.
Steps to try:
- Remove brush bar: Unlock the end cap or release latch on the Gtech floor head and slide the brush bar out.
- Clear obstructions: Cut away hair, string, and threads with scissors. Remove any debris lodged in the brush housing or around the end bearings.
- Check rotation: Spin the brush bar by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding or stiffness. If tight, the end bearings may be worn.
- Inspect drive belt/gear: On some models, a small belt or gear drives the brush. Check for broken teeth or a snapped belt.
- Test again: Reassemble and test. If the red LED returns quickly and the brush stops, replace the brush bar or complete motorised floor head assembly.
