Possible Causes

Battery not fully latched into handle, Dirty or bent battery terminals, Incompatible or non‑genuine Gtech battery, Internal BMS communication failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before inspecting contacts. Do not attempt to bend contacts with metal tools while connected.

Steps to try:

  • Reseat the battery: Remove the battery and refit it firmly until you hear a positive click. Ensure there is no play in the connection.
  • Inspect contacts: Check the metal terminals on both the battery and the handle. If they are dirty, clean gently with a dry cloth. If slightly bent, carefully straighten with a non‑metallic tool.
  • Check for third‑party battery: If you are using a non‑Gtech battery, replace it with a genuine Gtech pack. Some models will not recognise unapproved batteries.
  • Test with another battery: If available, try a second known‑good Gtech battery. If the vacuum works, the original battery is faulty.
  • Handle PCB fault: If no battery is recognised, the handle PCB or battery connector block may be defective. This usually requires replacement of the handle/main body assembly.
