Possible Causes
Blocked filters restricting airflow, Prolonged use on high power causing motor overheating, Blocked brush head vents, Failed thermal sensor on motor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the vacuum to cool for at least 30 minutes before further use. Remove the battery while cooling.
Steps to try:
- Cool‑down period: If the vacuum stopped during heavy use, leave it switched off with the battery removed for 30–60 minutes to allow the thermal cut‑out to reset.
- Clean filters thoroughly: Remove all filters. If they are washable, rinse under cold water until clear. Squeeze out excess water and let them dry completely (24 hours) before refitting.
- Check airflow path: Inspect the bin, cyclone, tube, and floor head for obstructions. Ensure all vents on the motor housing and floor head are clear of fluff and dust.
- Test in short bursts: Refit the dry filters and battery. Run the vacuum in short bursts. If it overheats and flashes four red lights again within a minute, the thermal sensor or motor may be failing.
- Service recommendation: Persistent overtemperature faults after cleaning usually require replacement of the main body (motor and PCB). Contact Gtech or a qualified technician.
