Deeply Discharged / Sleep Battery
Cordless vacuum does not respond after being stored for a long time; no lights, no charging
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Battery voltage dropped below BMS cutoff, Long-term storage without charging, BMS lockout, Cell damage from deep discharge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Inspect the battery for swelling or damage before attempting to charge.
- Attempt normal charge: Place the battery on the OEM Hamilton Beach charger for at least 30–60 minutes, even if no lights appear initially.
- Check charger indicators: If the charger never shows any sign of charging, the battery may be below safe voltage.
- Do not force charge: Do not attempt DIY revival methods; this is unsafe.
- Replace battery: Install a new OEM battery pack. To prevent recurrence, charge the battery at least every 3–6 months during storage.
