Possible Causes
Faulty airflow sensor on main body, Severely clogged HEPA exhaust filter, Dust buildup on pressure sensor port, Damaged sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the vacuum and remove the battery pack.
- Clean filters: Remove the pre-motor and HEPA exhaust filters. Tap them gently to remove dust. If washable per Hamilton Beach instructions, rinse with cool water and allow to dry completely (24 hours) before reinstalling.
- Inspect sensor port: On some models, a small hole or channel near the dust cup connects to the airflow sensor. Use a dry brush or compressed air to gently clear dust from this area.
- Check for blockages: Ensure the dust cup, wand, and nozzle are free of clogs that could confuse the sensor.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall dry filters, attach the dust cup, and test. If E8 persists, the airflow sensor or its wiring is likely defective.
- Professional repair: Airflow sensor replacement requires opening the main body and handling delicate components. Contact a service center.
