Possible Causes
Hair or debris jammed around brush roll, Worn or broken drive belt (if belt‑driven), Failed brush motor in nozzle, Damaged wiring in nozzle neck
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery.
- Remove brush roll: Open the brush cover and slide out the brush roll. Clear all hair and debris from the bristles and end caps.
- Inspect drive system: If your Hitachi head uses a belt, check for a broken or stretched belt and replace if necessary. If gear‑driven, ensure the drive gear is intact.
- Check rotation: Spin the brush roll by hand. It should rotate freely. If not, replace the brush roll assembly.
- Electrical test: Reinstall the brush and run the vacuum. If the brush still does not spin and there is no noise from the nozzle, the brush motor or wiring is likely faulty and the nozzle assembly may need replacement.
