Possible Causes

Loose internal wiring harness between battery and control PCB, Faulty hall sensor or tach sensor on motor, Damaged main control PCB, Corroded connector pins inside handle unit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before opening any covers. If your model is under warranty, contact Hitachi service before disassembling.

  • External inspection: Check the battery fitment. Ensure it clicks firmly into place and does not wobble. Inspect the external contacts for corrosion or bent pins and clean gently with a dry cloth.
  • Light tap test: With the battery installed and the unit powered on, gently tap the handle and body. If the vacuum cuts out or shows E6 when tapped, there may be an internal loose connection.
  • Limited user access: Most Hitachi cordless vacuums do not provide safe user access to the main PCB. Do not remove sealed covers or break warranty labels.

Because E6 typically indicates an internal electronics or sensor fault, further repair usually involves replacing the main control PCB or motor assembly and should be performed by a qualified technician.
