Possible Causes

Dust container not fully latched, Filter not seated against sensor, Broken bin latch microswitch, Misaligned filter sensor tab

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before adjusting the bin or filters.

Steps to resolve bin/filter detection issues:

  • 1. Remove and refit bin: Detach the dust container completely and then refit it, ensuring it clicks firmly into place. Check that the release latch is fully engaged.
  • 2. Check filter seating: Remove the pre-motor filter and reinstall it, making sure it sits flat and fully engages any locating tabs or notches.
  • 3. Inspect sensor tabs: Some Hoover Candy models use plastic tabs on the bin or filter to actuate a switch. Check that these tabs are not broken or warped.
  • 4. Visual check of switch: If accessible, look for a small microswitch or magnetic sensor near the bin mount. Ensure it is not obstructed by debris.

If the E11 indication persists with the bin and filters correctly installed, the presence switch or its wiring may be faulty. Replacement of the switch or main housing assembly is typically required and should be done by a technician.
