Possible Causes

Clogged pre-motor filter, Blocked cyclone assembly, Dust container overfilled, Blocked wand or flexible hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before disassembling the dust container or filters.

Steps to restore airflow:

  • 1. Empty the dust container: Detach the bin from the handheld unit and empty it completely. Tap the sides to dislodge compacted dust from the cyclone shroud.
  • 2. Clean the cyclone shroud: Use a soft brush or dry cloth to clean the metal or plastic mesh shroud inside the bin. Ensure all holes are clear.
  • 3. Wash the pre-motor filter: Remove the foam or fabric pre-motor filter. If the manual states it is washable, rinse under cold running water until the water runs clear. Squeeze gently (do not twist) and allow to air-dry for at least 24 hours. Never refit a damp filter.
  • 4. Check the HEPA/exhaust filter: Remove the rear HEPA or exhaust filter. Tap gently to remove dust. Replace if heavily soiled or damaged; many Hoover Candy cordless models specify periodic HEPA replacement.
  • 5. Inspect wand and hose: Look through the extension wand and any flexible hose for blockages. Push out debris with a long, blunt object if needed.
  • 6. Reassemble and test: Once all components are completely dry and clear, reassemble the vacuum, refit the battery, and test. Start on a lower power mode to confirm stable operation.

If the E3 indication persists with clean filters and clear airflow paths, the airflow sensor or pressure switch on the main control board may be faulty and should be checked by a service technician.
