Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack and disconnect the floor nozzle from the wand before working on the brushroll.
Steps to restore brushroll operation:
- 1. Remove brushroll: Open the brushroll access cover on the Hoover Candy motorized head. Lift out the brush bar.
- 2. Clear jams: Cut away hair, string, and fibers from the bristles and especially from the end caps. Check that both ends of the brushroll spin freely on their bearings.
- 3. Inspect drive system: On belt-driven models, check the drive belt for cracks, stretching, or breakage. Replace the belt if worn or broken. On direct-drive models, inspect the motor spindle and gear interface for damage.
- 4. Check electrical contacts: Inspect the electrical contacts between the wand and floor head for bent, recessed, or burnt pins. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
- 5. Test without load: Refit the brushroll and battery, then run the vacuum with the nozzle lifted off the floor. If the brush still does not spin and the brush icon continues to flash, the brushroll motor or internal PCB in the nozzle is likely faulty.
Next steps: Replace the complete Hoover Candy motorized floor nozzle or brushroll motor assembly if the motor does not run with a known-good power supply from the wand. Internal wiring and PCB repairs should be carried out by a qualified technician.
