Hoover Candy
Airflow Loss / Partial Blockage
Vacuum has very weak suction, but the motor sounds like it is running normally
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Clogged cyclone shroud, Blocked wand or hose, Damaged or missing seals around dust bin, Severely clogged pre-motor filter
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack before cleaning or disassembling.
Steps to restore suction:
- 1. Empty and clean bin: Remove the dust container and empty it completely. Clean the cyclone shroud with a soft brush to clear all holes.
- 2. Clean filters: Remove the pre-motor and HEPA filters. Tap out dust and wash if allowed by the manual. Let them dry fully before refitting.
- 3. Check for blockages: Detach the wand and any hoses. Look through them against a light source and remove any obstructions.
- 4. Inspect seals: Check the rubber seals on the bin and filter housing. Replace any that are torn, flattened, or missing, as air leaks will reduce suction.
If suction remains weak with all parts clean and sealed, the main motor fan may be damaged or the cyclone assembly may be cracked, requiring replacement.
