Hoover Candy
Severely Reduced Runtime
Vacuum runs for only a very short time (1–3 minutes) even after a full charge
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Aged lithium cells with reduced capacity, Battery pack imbalance, High resistance connections at battery terminals, Constant use in turbo mode on worn battery
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use only Hoover Candy-approved batteries and chargers.
Steps to confirm battery wear:
- 1. Fully charge the battery: Leave the pack on the charger until the charger and battery LEDs indicate a full charge.
- 2. Test on lowest power: Run the vacuum on the lowest power setting and time the runtime. If it is far below the specification in the manual, the battery is likely worn.
- 3. Check for overheating: If the battery or handle becomes very warm during the short runtime, internal resistance is high and the pack should be replaced.
- 4. Try another battery: If a second battery provides normal runtime, replace the original pack.
Battery packs degrade over time and are considered consumable. Replace the Hoover Candy battery pack with an OEM unit matching the model number printed on the original.
