Possible Causes
Broken or stretched drive belt (on belt-driven heads), Failed brush motor, Worn brush bar end bearings, Broken drive gear inside floorhead
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the floorhead.
Steps:
- Check for jams: Remove the brush bar and clear all hair and debris. Ensure it spins freely by hand.
- Inspect belt (if fitted): Open the belt cover on the floorhead (if accessible). Replace any snapped or loose belt with a Hoover-compatible belt.
- Test power to head: With the battery installed and vacuum on (use caution), gently wiggle the connector to the floorhead. If lights flicker or cut out, the wiring or connector is faulty.
If the brush still does not spin with a free bar and good belt, the brush motor or internal gears are likely failed. Replace the complete motorised floorhead.
