Hoover
Abnormal Charging Temperature
Cordless vacuum charges but gets unusually hot at the battery or charger during charging
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Aged battery with high internal resistance, Blocked charger ventilation, Faulty charger overcharging, Charging in hot environment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the battery or charger becomes too hot to touch, unplug immediately and allow to cool. Do not cover the charger while in use.
Steps:
- Move to cooler area: Charge in a well-ventilated, cool room away from direct sunlight.
- Check surfaces: Place charger on a hard, flat, non-flammable surface.
- Monitor temperature: During the next charge, periodically feel the battery and charger. Warm is normal; very hot is not.
If overheating recurs, replace the battery first. If a new battery also overheats, replace the charger and consult Hoover support.
