Hoover
Cyclone / Filter Blockage Causing Pressure Pulsing
Cordless vacuum motor pulses on and off repeatedly while trying to run
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Severely clogged cyclone mesh, Completely blocked filter, Obstruction near motor inlet, Overfilled dust bin
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and empty the bin.
Steps:
- Deep clean cyclone: Remove the cyclone assembly from the bin. Use a soft brush to clean all mesh surfaces. If washable (check manual), rinse thoroughly and allow to dry fully.
- Replace or wash filters: If filters are heavily soiled or deformed, replace them with genuine Hoover filters. Otherwise, wash and dry completely.
- Check motor inlet: With bin and cyclone removed, inspect the motor inlet for clumps of dust or foreign objects and remove carefully.
Reassemble only when all parts are completely dry. Pulsing usually stops once airflow is restored.
