Possible Causes
Battery pack at end of life, Repeated deep discharges, Long-term storage without charging, Use of non-genuine replacement battery with low capacity
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before handling.
Steps:
- Confirm charge: Fully charge the battery until the charger indicates full.
- Measure run time: Use the vacuum continuously on normal mode and time how long it runs from full to cut-out.
- Compare to spec: Check your Hoover model’s manual for expected run time (often 20–40 minutes). If actual time is less than half of spec, the battery is worn.
- Inspect battery: Check for swelling, cracks, or overheating during use. If present, stop using immediately.
Resolution: Replace the battery with a genuine Hoover pack. Battery cells are not user-repairable.
