Possible Causes

Damaged wiring loom in motorised floorhead, Faulty brush motor hall sensor, Loose connector between floorhead and wand, Failed brush motor control PCB in floorhead

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery and detach the motorised floorhead from the wand before inspection.

Steps:

  • Check connectors: Inspect the electrical connector pins on the floorhead and wand. Straighten any bent pins carefully and remove dust. Reseat the connection firmly.
  • Inspect cable: Look along the wand and into the neck of the floorhead for visible cable damage or pinching.
  • Clean brush bar and housing: Remove the brush bar and clear all hair and debris. A jammed brush can cause the hall sensor to misread rotation.
  • Test without wand (if design allows): Some Hoover cordless models allow the floorhead to connect directly to the handheld unit. Try this to rule out a faulty wand connection.

If E6 persists: The hall sensor or control PCB inside the motorised floorhead is likely faulty. Replace the complete motorised floorhead assembly or have it serviced by a technician.
