Hoover
Filter Not Fitted / Filter Sensor Error
Cordless vacuum shows F2 and will not start; often after cleaning filters

Possible Causes
Pre-motor filter missing or not seated, Wet filter installed, Faulty filter presence sensor, Wrong filter type fitted
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before handling filters.
Steps:
- Check filter presence: Open the filter compartment and confirm the correct Hoover filter is installed in the right orientation.
- Ensure filter is dry: If you recently washed the filter, it must be completely dry (24 hours minimum). A damp filter can trigger errors and damage the motor.
- Clean seating area: Remove dust from the filter housing and sensor area so the filter can sit flat and actuate any internal switch or magnet sensor.
- Refit firmly: Press the filter into place until it is fully seated and any cover is latched.
If F2 persists: The filter sensor (mechanical or magnetic) may be faulty. Use a genuine replacement filter; if the error remains, the sensor or main PCB will need professional attention.
