Possible Causes

Hair or string wrapped around brushroll, Foreign object jammed in Jimmy motorized floorhead, Worn or stripped brushroll drive gear, Faulty floorhead motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch OFF the vacuum and remove the battery pack before working on the floorhead.

  • Step 1 – Remove floorhead: Detach the Jimmy motorized floorhead from the extension tube or handheld body.
  • Step 2 – Access brushroll: Open the brushroll cover (usually a side cap or bottom plate with clips or screws). Carefully lift out the brushroll.
  • Step 3 – Clear tangles: Use scissors to cut away hair, threads, and fibers from the brushroll and end caps. Ensure the ends of the brushroll spin freely on their bearings.
  • Step 4 – Inspect drive system: Check the drive belt or gear coupling (depending on model). Look for stripped teeth, melted plastic, or broken belt. Replace if damaged.
  • Step 5 – Clean floorhead airways: Remove any debris from the suction channel and side passages inside the floorhead.
  • Step 6 – Reassemble and test: Refit the brushroll and cover securely. Reattach the floorhead, reinstall the battery, and test. If E3 returns immediately and the brush never moves, the Jimmy floorhead motor or floorhead PCB is likely faulty and the entire motorized floorhead assembly should be replaced.
