Possible Causes

Failed mode switch button on handle, Damaged keypad flex cable, Faulty control PCB input circuit, Liquid ingress around control panel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery pack before inspecting the handle or control panel.

  • Step 1 – Check for physical damage: Inspect the power and mode buttons on the Jimmy handle. If a button is stuck, gently work it free. Do not use sharp tools that can puncture the rubber membrane.
  • Step 2 – Dry out moisture: If the control area was exposed to moisture, leave the vacuum in a warm, dry room for 24–48 hours with the battery removed. Do not use heat guns or hair dryers.
  • Step 3 – Test again: Reinstall the battery and check if buttons respond. Try pressing firmly but not excessively.
  • Step 4 – Internal inspection (advanced): If comfortable, open the handle shell and inspect the keypad flex cable connection to the main PCB. Reseat the connector.
  • Step 5 – Replace parts: If E8 persists, replace the handle keypad assembly or the main control PCB. This is typically a technician-level repair.
