Possible Causes
Debris in motor fan, Worn motor bearings, Loose screw or part inside floorhead, Damaged brushroll bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery immediately if you hear grinding to prevent further damage.
- Step 1 – Isolate source: Run the vacuum briefly without the floorhead (handheld only). If noise disappears, the issue is in the floorhead. If noise remains, suspect the motor.
- Step 2 – Inspect floorhead: Open the floorhead, remove the brushroll, and check for stones or hard objects. Spin the brushroll ends; replace if rough or noisy.
- Step 3 – Check motor area: Remove dust cup and cyclone. Inspect motor inlet for debris. Do not insert metal tools into the fan.
- Step 4 – Motor replacement: If noise clearly comes from the motor and persists, replace the main motor assembly.
