Possible Causes
Faulty tilt sensor on main PCB, Misaligned safety interlock switch in dust container, Damaged housing or latch after impact, Loose internal connector to sensor board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before opening any covers.
- Reset orientation: Place the vacuum upright on a flat surface. Remove the battery for 1 minute, then reinstall and try again. Some models reset tilt sensors this way.
- Check dust container fit: Remove and reinstall the dust container, ensuring it clicks firmly into place. Inspect the container latch and any small plastic tabs that actuate an internal safety switch.
- Inspect for visible damage: Look for cracks around the handle, battery bay, and dust container mount that could misalign internal switches.
- If recently dropped: Internal sensor boards or connectors may have loosened. If you are comfortable, remove the outer housing screws (with battery removed), gently open the shell, and check that small plug connectors on the main PCB and sensor board are fully seated. Do not pull on wires.
- Persistent E4: If no mechanical misalignment is found, the tilt sensor or interlock circuit on the PCB is likely defective and requires professional replacement.
