E5
Kärcher
Overvoltage / Undervoltage Protection (Battery Voltage Out of Range)
Cordless vacuum stops and shows E5 when using turbo or maximum power mode
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Weak or aged Li‑Ion battery pack with high internal resistance, Battery pack not fully charged, Faulty battery cell group inside pack, Defective voltage sensing circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use only original Kärcher chargers and batteries. Do not open the battery pack.
- Fully charge the battery: Place the battery on the original Kärcher charger until the indicator shows full charge. Then test the vacuum again.
- Test on lower power: Run the vacuum on normal/eco mode. If it works in eco but triggers E5 in turbo, the battery may not be able to supply peak current.
- Try another battery: If you have a second compatible Kärcher battery, test with it. If E5 disappears, replace the original battery pack.
- Check battery contacts: Inspect and clean the contacts on both the battery and vacuum with a dry cloth. Poor contact can cause voltage drops under load.
- Persistent E5 with multiple batteries: The main control PCB’s voltage sensing or power stage may be faulty. Professional service is recommended.
