Possible Causes
Defective Kärcher charging station or power adapter, Dirty or bent charging contacts on vacuum or dock, Faulty charge control circuit in battery pack, Damaged charge port wiring inside vacuum
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the charger from mains before cleaning contacts. Do not use metal tools on live contacts.
- Check mains power: Verify the wall outlet works by plugging in another device. Ensure the charger’s indicator LED (if present) lights.
- Inspect contacts: On the charging station and the vacuum, inspect the metal contacts. Clean gently with a dry cloth or cotton swab. Remove any oxidation with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol and let dry.
- Reseat the vacuum: Place the vacuum carefully on the dock, ensuring it sits fully and the contacts align. Listen/feel for any click or alignment guides.
- Test with another charger: If available, try a known-good Kärcher charger of the same model. If charging works, replace the original charger.
- If E6 persists: The battery’s internal charge control or the vacuum’s charge port wiring may be defective. Do not attempt to open the battery pack. Contact Kärcher service for battery or PCB replacement.
