Cordless vacuum display shows E7 and suction is disabled, brush may still rotate

Possible Causes
Dust container not fully latched, Missing or incorrectly seated main filter cartridge, Broken filter presence microswitch, Damaged dust container latch tabs
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before adjusting the dust container or filter.
- Remove and reinstall dust container: Take off the dust container completely and inspect the mounting rails and latch. Refit it firmly until you hear a click.
- Check filter installation: Ensure the main filter (HEPA or cartridge) is installed in the correct orientation and fully seated. Some Kärcher models have a sensor that disables suction if the filter is missing.
- Inspect latch and tabs: Look for cracked or worn plastic tabs on the container that actuate an internal switch. If broken, the container may not press the switch far enough.
- Test switch (if accessible): With the battery removed and housing open (if you are comfortable), locate the small microswitch that detects the container/filter. Gently press it with a non‑metallic tool and see if the error clears when reassembled. Do not bypass the switch permanently.
- Replace damaged parts: If the container or filter frame is cracked, replace with original Kärcher parts. If the switch is faulty, the switch or main PCB assembly may need replacement by a technician.
