Possible Causes

Brush roller jammed with hair or debris, Faulty brush motor in Kärcher power nozzle, Damaged drive belt or gear train, Brush motor overcurrent sensor fault on nozzle PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery and disconnect the floor nozzle before working on the brush.

  • Clear the brush roller: Open the brush access cover on the Kärcher power nozzle. Remove the roller and cut away hair, threads, and fibers from the bristles and end caps. Ensure the roller spins freely.
  • Inspect drive components: If the nozzle uses a belt or gear drive, check for broken or stripped parts. Replace worn belts/gears with Kärcher originals.
  • Check for obstructions: Look inside the nozzle housing for foreign objects (coins, toys) that could block the roller or motor.
  • Test without roller: With the roller removed and battery reinstalled, briefly power the vacuum and activate the brush. If the motor runs freely, the roller was the issue. If it still does not run and E8 appears, the brush motor or nozzle PCB is likely faulty.
  • Replace nozzle assembly: On many Kärcher cordless models, the brush motor and PCB are integrated into the floor nozzle. Replace the entire power nozzle if individual parts are not serviceable.
