Possible Causes

Battery pack not fully seated in handle, Dirty or oxidized battery terminals, Faulty battery management system (BMS) board in battery pack, Damaged battery connector pins in main body

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Power the vacuum OFF and remove the battery pack before any inspection. Do not short battery terminals.

  • Reseat the battery: Remove the battery pack from the handle or base. Inspect the rails and latch for debris. Slide the battery back in firmly until you hear a positive click.
  • Clean battery contacts: Use a dry cloth or a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean the metal contacts on both the battery pack and the vacuum body. Allow to dry fully, then reinstall.
  • Check for bent or recessed pins: Inspect the battery connector pins in the vacuum body. If any pins are bent, do not force the battery in. Slightly straighten with a non‑metallic tool if possible; if badly damaged, the connector assembly should be replaced.
  • Test with another battery (if available): If you have a second compatible Levoit battery pack, install it and see if E1 clears. If the second battery works, the original battery pack is likely faulty.
  • If E1 persists: Discontinue use. A failed BMS or connector can overheat. Contact Levoit support or a qualified technician for battery pack or main body replacement.
