Possible Causes
Misaligned dust bin, Broken bin latch, Faulty bin presence microswitch, Damaged bin sensor tab on bin body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before manipulating the dust bin and latch.
- 1. Remove and reinstall bin: Detach the dust bin completely and reinstall it, ensuring the latch clicks and the bin sits flush with the main body.
- 2. Inspect latch and tabs: Look for broken plastic tabs or cracks on the bin that engage the sensor. If a tab is missing, the bin may not actuate the switch and will need replacement.
- 3. Check for debris around latch: Dust buildup can prevent the latch from fully engaging. Clean the latch area with a dry brush or compressed air.
- 4. Gently test the switch: With the bin removed and battery out, locate the small switch or lever that the bin presses. Do not force it, but confirm it moves freely. If it feels stuck or loose, the switch may be broken and requires service.
