Possible Causes

Stuck or worn mode button, Faulty button PCB, Damaged ribbon cable between button board and main PCB, Contamination under button cap

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before attempting to clean around buttons.

  • 1. Check button travel: Press the mode button repeatedly with the unit off. It should click and return smoothly. If it feels stuck, gently clean around the button with a dry cloth.
  • 2. Power reset: Remove the battery for 60 seconds, then reinstall and test the mode button again.
  • 3. Avoid liquids: Do not spray cleaners directly on the button; moisture can damage the PCB.
  • 4. If the button physically moves but the mode never changes, the internal button PCB or cable is likely faulty. This requires disassembly of the handle and should be done by a technician.
