Possible Causes
Severely clogged filters, Blocked air path in wand or hose, Failing main motor drawing excessive current, Short in motor control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack before inspection. Do not bypass any fuses or safety devices.
- Clean all filters: Remove pre‑motor and post‑motor/HEPA filters. Tap out dust and wash if the manual allows. Let them dry completely (24 hours) before refitting.
- Check for obstructions: Detach the wand, hose, and tools. Look through each section for blockages. Clear any debris using a flexible brush or non‑sharp rod.
- Test in low power: Reassemble and test in the lowest power mode. If it runs normally on low but trips E5 on high with clean filters and clear airflow, the motor may be failing under load.
- Inspect for burning smell: If you notice a burning or electrical smell from the motor housing, stop using the vacuum. This indicates motor or PCB damage.
- Replace motor or PCB: Persistent E5 with clear airflow suggests a failing main motor or motor control PCB. These components should be replaced as a complete motor assembly or main control board.
