Possible Causes
Defective mode selector switch, Faulty speed control circuitry on PCB, Damaged ribbon cable between control panel and PCB, Contaminated mode buttons
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack before working on the controls.
- Check mode buttons: Press each mode button several times to free any sticking. Ensure they return fully and are not jammed by dirt.
- Clean control panel: Wipe the control area with a slightly damp cloth (no liquid ingress) to remove dust and residue that may interfere with button travel.
- Inspect internal connections: If accessible, open the handle/control housing and check the ribbon cable or wiring harness from the control panel to the main PCB. Reseat any loose connectors.
- Test operation: Reassemble and test each mode. If F1 persists and only one speed works, the mode selector PCB or main control PCB is likely faulty and should be replaced.
