Makita
Reduced Runtime / High Current Draw
Vacuum runs for a very short time (less than expected) on a full battery.

Possible Causes
Clogged filters increasing load, Worn motor drawing excess current, Battery capacity degraded, Using turbo mode continuously
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning.
- Clean all filters and airways: Perform a full cleaning of pre-filter, main filter, cyclone, and nozzle to reduce load on the motor.
- Test different modes: Compare runtime on low vs high power. Turbo mode will significantly reduce runtime; this is normal.
- Try another battery: Use a different fully charged Makita battery of the same series. If runtime improves, the original battery is likely worn and should be replaced.
- If runtime remains short with clean filters and good battery: The motor may be worn and drawing excessive current. Replacement of the motor housing assembly is recommended.
