Possible Causes
Jammed brush roll, Failed brush motor in floor head, Damaged brush motor wiring harness, Faulty brush motor driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack and disconnect the floor nozzle from the wand before working on the brush area.
- Clear brush roll: Open the brush cover and remove the brush roll. Cut away hair and threads from the bristles and end caps. Check that the end bearings rotate smoothly.
- Inspect for obstructions: Look inside the nozzle housing for lodged objects (toys, stones, etc.) that could block the brush or motor.
- Check electrical contacts: Many Medion cordless vacuums use metal contacts between the wand and floor head. Clean these contacts with a dry cloth. Ensure the wand clicks firmly into place.
- Test without brush head: Install the battery and run the vacuum with only the main body. If it runs without error, the fault is likely in the floor nozzle assembly.
- Replace floor nozzle: If the brush still does not spin and E5 persists, the brush motor or internal wiring in the nozzle is likely defective. Replace the complete motorized floor nozzle or have the brush motor assembly serviced.
