Possible Causes
Shorted Electrobrush motor, Damaged wiring in wand, Melted connector pins, Internal PCB short in floorhead
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and disconnect the Electrobrush. Do not continue to operate if a short is suspected.
- 1. Isolate the fault: Run the vacuum with only the handle and wand (no Electrobrush). If it runs normally, the short is in the Electrobrush. If it fails as soon as the wand is attached, the wand wiring may be shorted.
- 2. Inspect connectors: Check the electrical contacts on the wand and Electrobrush for burn marks, melting, or bent pins. Do not attempt to straighten severely damaged pins.
- 3. Smell test: Gently smell near the Electrobrush housing. A burnt odor suggests internal motor or PCB damage.
- 4. Do not bypass safety: Never attempt to bridge or bypass the electrical contacts or safety circuits.
- 5. Replace faulty component: If the Electrobrush is the source, replace the Electrobrush assembly. If the wand is damaged, replace the wand. For internal shorts in the handle, contact Miele service.
