Possible Causes
Defective tilt sensor on PCB, Loose sensor connection, Firmware misinterpretation of sensor data, Physical shock damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before handling the vacuum.
- 1. Reset the unit: Place the vacuum upright on a flat surface. Remove the battery for 5 minutes, then reinsert while the unit remains upright. Test operation.
- 2. Avoid abrupt movements: Test the vacuum with gentle movements. If F16 appears only with sharp tilts, the sensor may be overly sensitive or damaged.
- 3. Check for impact damage: Inspect the housing for cracks or signs of a drop. Internal sensors can be damaged by impact.
- 4. Professional service: Tilt sensors are mounted on the control PCB and are not user-replaceable. Contact Miele service for PCB inspection and replacement if needed.
