Vacuum will not charge, no charging progress, F18 shown on display when docked

Safety first: Unplug the charger from the mains before inspecting contacts.

• 1. Check mains power: Confirm the wall outlet is live by testing with another device.
• 2. Inspect charging cradle: Look for cracks, loose mounting, or damaged contacts. Clean contacts with a dry cloth.
• 3. Inspect battery contacts: Check the battery's charging pads for dirt or oxidation. Clean gently with a dry cloth.
• 4. Bypass cradle (if possible): Some models allow direct connection of the charger to the battery. If direct charging works, the cradle is faulty and should be replaced.
• 5. Try another charger (if available): Use a known-good Miele charger with the same specifications. If charging resumes, replace the original charger.
• 6. Persistent F18: Indicates a communication fault between charger and battery. Contact Miele service for further diagnosis.
