Possible Causes
Pre-motor filter saturated, Exhaust HEPA filter clogged, Dust sensor detecting persistent restriction, Extended use without filter maintenance
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the vacuum and remove the battery before servicing filters.
- 1. Remove and inspect filters: Take out the pre-motor and exhaust filters. If they appear grey, clogged, or deformed, they need cleaning or replacement.
- 2. Clean washable filters: If your Miele model uses washable filters, rinse them under lukewarm water without detergent until the water runs clear. Allow to dry completely (24 hours) before refitting.
- 3. Replace non-washable filters: Install genuine Miele replacement filters matching your model (e.g. HEPA Lifetime filter, fine dust filter).
- 4. Reset the filter indicator: Follow the user manual to reset the filter or maintenance indicator (often by holding a specific button combination).
- 5. Test suction: After maintenance, run the vacuum and confirm performance has improved and F19 has cleared.
