Possible Causes
Blocked floorhead, Clogged suction channel in wand, Severely dirty pre-motor filter, Failing motor in power unit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the vacuum and remove the battery pack before inspecting the air path.
- 1. Check the floorhead: Remove the Electrobrush or standard floorhead from the wand. Inspect for hair, threads, or debris wrapped around the brush roller or jammed in the air inlet. Cut away hair with scissors and pull out debris.
- 2. Inspect the wand and handle airway: Look through the wand and handle tube toward a light source. Remove any visible blockages using a flexible rod or straightened coat hanger with a rounded end (do not puncture the plastic).
- 3. Clean the pre-motor filter: Remove the dust container, then remove the pre-motor filter (often a fine mesh or pleated filter). Tap it gently over a bin. If washable per Miele instructions, rinse with lukewarm water only and allow to dry completely (at least 24 hours) before refitting.
- 4. Test without floorhead: Attach only the handle and wand (no Electrobrush) and run the vacuum. If F2 no longer appears, the floorhead motor or brush is overloading and the Electrobrush may need service or replacement.
- 5. Persistent F2 with clear airflow: The main motor may be drawing excessive current due to internal wear. Contact a Miele technician for motor unit diagnosis and replacement.
