Possible Causes

Damaged electrical contacts between wand and floorhead, Broken cable in wand, Faulty Electrobrush motor PCB, Debris preventing proper connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch OFF the vacuum and remove the battery before inspecting the Electrobrush and wand.

  • 1. Check mechanical connection: Remove the Electrobrush from the wand and reattach it firmly until it clicks. Ensure there is no play in the connection.
  • 2. Inspect electrical contacts: Look at the metal contacts on the end of the wand and on the Electrobrush neck. Clean gently with a dry cloth. Do not bend the contacts.
  • 3. Test with another attachment: Attach a non-powered floorhead or accessory. If the vacuum runs normally, the issue is isolated to the Electrobrush or wand.
  • 4. Wiggle test: With the vacuum running (battery inserted, but keep fingers away from moving parts), gently move the wand near the connection points. If the brush starts/stops intermittently, the wand cable or contacts are faulty and the wand may need replacement.
  • 5. Persistent F5 with good contacts: The Electrobrush motor PCB or motor is likely defective. Replace the Electrobrush assembly or have it serviced by Miele.
