Possible Causes

Defective mode selector switch, Contaminated control buttons, Faulty control PCB in handle, Loose internal connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning or inspecting the controls.

  • 1. Clean around buttons: Use a slightly damp (not wet) microfiber cloth to clean around the power and mode buttons. Dry thoroughly. Do not allow liquid to enter the button gaps.
  • 2. Check for stuck buttons: Press each button several times. Ensure they move freely and return fully. If a button feels stuck, avoid forcing it; internal contamination may require professional cleaning.
  • 3. Power reset: Remove the battery for 5 minutes, then reinsert and test. Sometimes a control PCB glitch can be cleared by a reset.
  • 4. Test in different configurations: Try running the vacuum in handheld mode only (without wand or floorhead). If F7 disappears, the issue may be related to load changes from the Electrobrush.
  • 5. If F7 persists: The handle control PCB or button assembly is likely faulty and should be replaced by a Miele technician.
