Possible Causes
Clogged fine dust filter, Blocked cyclone assembly, Full dust container, Obstructed wand or hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF the vacuum and remove the battery before opening the dust container.
- 1. Empty the dust container: Remove the bin and empty it completely. Tap gently to dislodge compacted dust.
- 2. Clean the cyclone assembly: Remove the inner cyclone unit. Use a soft brush to remove fine dust from the cones and mesh. Do not use sharp tools that could damage the plastic.
- 3. Service the filters: Remove the pre-motor and exhaust filters. Tap off loose dust. If your Miele model specifies washable filters, rinse under lukewarm water without detergent and allow to dry fully (24 hours) before refitting. Replace filters if they remain heavily soiled.
- 4. Check wand and accessories: Look through the wand and any flexible hoses for blockages. Remove obstructions carefully.
- 5. Reset filter indicator: On some models, the filter indicator resets automatically after airflow improves; others may require a manual reset per the user manual.
- 6. If F8 remains with clean filters and clear airflow: The airflow sensor or pressure sensor may be faulty and require professional service.
