Possible Causes
Brush roller jam causing belt or motor overheating, Motor winding overheating, Shorted wiring, Dust buildup on hot components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately switch OFF the vacuum, remove the battery, and do not continue to use it until the cause is identified.
- 1. Check Electrobrush: Remove the floorhead and inspect the brush roller for jams. Clear all debris and ensure it spins freely.
- 2. Smell source: Carefully smell near the floorhead and motor unit (with battery removed). Identify which area the odor comes from.
- 3. Inspect for discoloration: Look for melted plastic, burn marks, or deformed parts.
- 4. Do not ignore persistent smell: If the burning smell returns after cleaning, stop using the vacuum and contact Miele service. Internal electrical faults require professional repair.
